EPIC looks back on more than 25 years of investing in the countries of Central & South East Europe. Throughout the years EPIC has developed an effective and consistent approach to investing in the region. This approach is founded largely upon EPIC's belief in the need for a strong local presence and active participation in the management of the companies in which it invests. Depending on the project EPIC has acted as singular or co-investor.
During the wave of mass privatization programs in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Bulgaria, EPIC acted as asset manager of Privatization Investment Funds as well as cities (e.g. Prague) holding and managing a very broad portfolio of industrial assets. Over time, EPIC also took up and later divested consolidated positions in individual companies such as
- Brewery Starobrno, Czech Republic,
- Construction company Subterra, Czech Republic
- Polymer producer Dioki, Croatia
- Telecom service company ESU, Ukraine
- Construction materials company Prespor and contractor LSH, Slovakia
- Telecommunications company Ukrtelecom, Ukraine
Today, EPIC has focused its investment activities in Valamar Riviera d.d., the largest hospitality group in Croatia listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
